The Importance of Inclusion in South Windsor Parks and Recreation
 
As South Windsor Parks and Recreation continues to grow with hundreds of programs for active participants we encourage everyone to take advantage of our various activities and events in order to remain active physically, mentally and socially.
 
Our department is proud to offer these programs and services to participants of all abilities. In order to provide opportunities for all participants to engage in leisure pursuits together, SWPR Provides inclusion support services and reasonable accommodations.

Inclusion Services

The South Windsor Parks and Recreation encourages and supports the participation of residents with disabilities in all programs and services. Our programs and staff are pleased to welcome individuals of all abilities in our programs. Our staff works to facilitate opportunities for all participants with and without disabilities to engage in leisure pursuits together,

Requesting Accommodations

The South Windsor Parks and Recreation provides inclusion support services and reasonable accommodations. To make each program as successful as possible for all participants, please notify the Parks and Recreation office at least 2 weeks in advance for accommodations. Please complete this form when requesting accommodations.

What Inclusion Means

The South Windsor Parks and Recreation Department welcomes individuals with disabilities to participate in the same recreation programs and activities as their non-disabled peers. Reasonable accommodations are provided to enable an individual’s successful participation in a program.

Minimum Requirements for Successful Inclusion

The same minimum requirements which apply to a person without a disability also apply to a person with a disability. These include:
  • Following the rules of conduct (with or without reasonable accommodations)
  • Meeting the age and registration requirements of the program
