The Teacher Aide position is responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in supervision and management of the class, ensuring safety and physical well-being of the children in our program, and contributing to a positive classroom environment where children are encouraged to grow socially, physically, emotionally and intellectually.

The ideal candidate will have a warm, nurturing, supportive attitude toward children, have knowledge of child development principles for children ages 1-5, and have the ability to work as part of a team to ensure continuity, support and high standards across all preschool classrooms!

Mighty Mites/More Mighty Mites Youth Basketball

Basketball season is upon us, and we are looking to fill our part-time staff roster with dedicated athletes and youth coaches for the 2025/2026 season! South Windsor Parks and Recreation is seeking enthusiastic, team-oriented individuals who are creative and excited to foster new experiences for the youth athletes in our community!

Seasonal opportunity: Late October through February/March

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor of Athletics, and Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation, the Mighty Mites Coaches are responsible for the direct supervision and safety of all youth athletes participating in Mighty Mites and More Mighty Mites.  This position is responsible for leading, instructing and supervising in all phases of successful safe operation and total administration of the Mighty Mites Youth Basketball programs for children in grades K-3.

 

Know How: The Mighty Mites Coach should be a motivated, team player, with good communication skills, and express a willingness to work with children while building the knowledge and skill of basketball at a youth level.  The Coach should be flexible, demonstrate an ability to lead organized activities, has an understanding of basketball, and ability to instruct children in grades K-3. Must have previous experience working with youth and leading activities. The Mighty Mites Coach should be currently enrolled in high school or college, and/or have graduated from college. The individual must have current BLS CPR and first aid certification.

Sports Program Coordinator

Our Sports Program Coordinator helps to maintain safe, organized and energetic operation of Adult and Youth Sports programming. This seasonal position requires staff to be available on days, nights and/or weekends as needed for approximately 15-20 hours per week.

Staff must be energetic, a self-starter who enjoys working with people of diverse ages and backgrounds and are able to interact with players and staff in a positive, courteous, and respectful manner.
